We characterize orbifolds in terms of their sheaves, and show that orbifolds correspond exactly to a specific class of smooth groupoids. As an application, we construct fibered products of orbifolds and prove a change-of-base formula for sheaf cohomology.  相似文献

We observe that any regular Lie groupoid G over a manifold M fits into an extension K G E of a foliation groupoid E by a bundle of connected Lie groups K. If F is the foliation on M given by the orbits of E and T is a complete transversal to F , this extension restricts to T, as an extension K T G T E T of an étale groupoid E T by a bundle of connected groups K T . We break up the classification problem for regular Lie groupoids into two parts. On the one hand, we classify the latter extensions of étale groupoids by (non-Abelian) cohomology classes in a new ech cohomology of étale groupoids. On the other hand, given K and E and an extension K T G T E T over T, we present a cohomological obstruction to the problem of whether this is the restriction of an extension K G E over M; if this obstruction vanishes, all extensions K G E over M which restrict to a given extension over the transversal together form a principal bundle over a group of bitorsors under K.  相似文献

For a Lie groupoid G with algebroid g, one says that a subalgebroid hg is developable if it can be integrated to a closed Lie subgroupoid of the universal covering groupoid of G. Under some additional hypotheses, we construct an algebroid b, depending on G and h, and prove that the developability of h is equivalent to the integrability of b. This result extends the Almeida-Molino obstruction to developability of foliations.  相似文献

We introduce the notion of a “category with path objects”, as a slight strengthening of Kenneth Brown's classical notion of a “category of fibrant objects”. We develop the basic properties of such a category and its associated homotopy category. Subsequently, we show how the exact completion of this homotopy category can be obtained as the homotopy category associated to a larger category with path objects, obtained by freely adjoining certain homotopy quotients. In a second part of this paper, we will present an application to models of constructive set theory. Although our work is partly motivated by recent developments in homotopy type theory, this paper is written purely in the language of homotopy theory and category theory, and we do not presuppose any familiarity with type theory on the side of the reader.  相似文献

The embedding will be shown to induce a full embedding of derived categories, hence isomorphisms H*(&,A) = H*(X(&), *A) for any Abelian sheaf A on &. The use of stable isotope labelled glucose provides insight into glucose metabolism. The 13C‐isotopic enrichment of glucose is usually measured by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) or gas chromatography/combustion/isotope ratio mass spectrometry (GC/C/IRMS). However, in both techniques the samples must be derivatized prior to analysis, which makes sample preparation more labour‐intensive and increases the uncertainty of the measured isotopic composition. A novel method for the determination of isotopic enrichment of glucose in human plasma using liquid chromatography/isotope ratio mass spectrometry (LC/IRMS) has been developed. Using this technique, for which hardly any sample preparation is needed, we showed that both the enrichment and the concentration could be measured with very high precision using only 20 µL of plasma. In addition, a comparison with GC/MS and GC/IRMS showed that the best performance was achieved with the LC/IRMS method making it the method of choice for the measurement of 13C‐isotopic enrichment in plasma samples. We extend the -construction of Boardman and Vogt to operads of an arbitrary monoidal model category with suitable interval, and show that it provides a cofibrant resolution for well-pointed Σ-cofibrant operads. The standard simplicial resolution of Godement as well as the cobar-bar chain resolution are shown to be particular instances of this generalised -construction.  相似文献
